Built by Gales of Cowes in 1910 as an Itchen Ferry type. Long keel., straight stem, transom stern with transom-hung rudder. Pitch-pine hull planking cooper fastened to sawn oak frames with steamed oak intermediates. Approx 2 tons lead ballast keel, bolts drawn 1996, Some int lead ballast. Straight laid teak deck between deep, varnished teak toe rails, coach-roof up to the mast with raised dog-house aft, all coamings in varnished teak with double doors to a self draining teak cockpits iron tiller.
Gaff cutter rig on keel stepped varnished pine mast, hand spliced galv wire rigging set up to dead-eyes to newly,galvanised and rebolted chain plates. Back-stays on tackles 399 sq' mainsai1 in tan terylene on a varnished slab reefing boom: 246 sq’ in staysail & jib. New topsail.
Perkins 4/99 4-cyl 37hp 1962 diesel with two lever Parsons box to centre line 3-blade new bronze prop gives 6knts max. 12 galls fuel. 12v battery.
