Built in Camaret, France in 1947 as a motor fishing boat with small aux rig. A big, full bodied vessel with remarkably fine under water lines, long keel, raked transom stern, high free board.
Fished out of Salocmbe for many years before rebuild and conversion to a full sailing rig in 1985
Originally fitted with a vivier, the midships frames and most of the underwater planking were replaced. Immensley spacious new laid pine deck with centre-line iroko hatches and sky-lights, high bulwarks all round and new oak keel. Hydraulic wheel steering on open aft deck.
1989 gaff schooner rig on varnished solid keel-stepped masts, fidded topmast to main, pole fore mast. Galv wire rigging set up to dead-eyes and lanyards. Slab reefing booms. 3100 sq’ in 7 1989 white duradon sails. All block and tackle gear. A serious, traditional rig.
Baudoin 120hp 6-cyl diesel, hydraulic box to 4-blade prop gives 8 knts. Air start. Air bottle refil from engine and aux compressor. Engine rebuilt 1992. Onan 12KVa diesel generator. All in dedicated walk-in engine room. New engine room fuel and water tanks. Grey water tank.
10 guests in 3 twin berth cabins and forward 4-berth cabin + occasional saloon pilot berth. Crew quarters aft with 4 berths, chart table. Large galley with gas cooker, fridge and freezer. 2 heads and showers. Spacious saloon with table to seat 10. Pine and mahogany ply joinery creates a wonderful uncluttered atmosphere 6’6" head-room.
Fully equipped & certificated Code of Practice for charter to Cat3. Cat 0 stability. Probably the finest traditional charter boat in UK, abig boat for her dimensions, first class sea boat & sailer.
