Designed by J.S. Helyer & built by Field & Co on the Itchen, Southampton in 1898. Long kee1 , 1ong counter stern . Lead externa1 ba11ast kee1. Hardwood 1aid over ply deck. Original cock-pit coamings & integral sliding hatch & sky-light. After many years, the present owner found his yacht was getting old & tired. He contemplated burning her but instead commenced a refit which turied into a total rebuild in Topsham, Devon between 1989 -1996.
The hu11 inc1uding frames, p1anking & back-bone is new, larch planked on oak timbers, a11 cooper fastened. The origina1 1ead ba1last kee1 remains with new bronze bo1ts. The deck is straigt-1aid in a si1ver grey hard-wood over p1y between varnished teak king plank & cover boards with varnished teak toe rails The original cock-pit coamings, sky-light & hatch were transfered across to the new boat with all the original bronze deck fittings.

Gaff cutter rig on the original keel-stepped varnished spruce mast with original fittings, original slab-reef boom & gaff. New galv wire rigging. C.1972 mainsail but little used, newer stay.sail, jib, yankee & gaff topsail all in terylene. All original wooden blocks.
Yanmar IGM IOP single cyl. diesel engine with centre line prop, all installed new in rebuild.
4 berths. Saloon cabin, head-room under the sky-light, continuons beams across in varnished iroko, varnished T&G pine bulkheads; iroko joinery. Port & stbd settee berths, original teak joinery rockers behind, drop leaf table
between. Large berth up forward, heads under.
This very pretty little yacht must be considered as a new boat having been very little sailed since built. She is stunningly pretty, a proper classic yacht in the purest sense of the word at a fraction of new build price now.
