Well-known Buchanan design, this one built by Titchmarsh, Essex in 1961. Full keel, raked transom stern. Carvel planked mahogany, bottom 3 planks in afromosia, all copper fastened to 11/2 x 11/4'" steamed oak timbers @ 9"c, heavier in way of mast. 1996 epoxy sheathed ply deck with teak toe rail. Varnished teak coach-roof with fore hatch, deck replaced '97. Transom-hung rudder, tiller steering in spacious cock-pit with deep teak coamings and bridge deck. Iron ballast keel, 3 bolts drown '96. Ferrous strap floors in clean, bilge.
Masthead sloop rig on keel-stepped vamished most, single spreaders, twin back-stays, stab reef varnished boom. S/s rigging with Norsemen terminals replaced in present ownership to int s/s chain plates. Pair of Gibb sheet winches, pair of mast halliard winches. 1996 sails. Mainsail, light genoa, Nos 1 & 2 genoas, storm jib and trisail.
1994 Yanmar 2GM15 15hp 2-cyl diesel. Single lever controls to 3-blade centre line prop gives 5 knts. 8 gall s/s tank gives 24hrs motoring. 2 x 12v batteries. Rewired 1995.
