A superb and fully restored classic steam launch, built by L.I.F.U. Cowes in 1897 and restored between 1986/97 Carvel planked in full length pitch-pine, copper fastened to 11/2" x 1" steamed oak timbers at 9"c. Varnished teak fore deck, aft deck and gunnels with teak seating. Engine enclosed in a teak box midships with polished copper funnel Wheel steering on cables to transom-hung rudder. Teak grating in fore and aft cock-pits.

L.I.F.U. compound steam engine, 31/2" x 8" with Stevenson Link reversing gear, built 1897 fully condensing with twin bilge coolers. Max 10 knts. Engine rebuilt by Alex Ritchie. New 250psi boiler commissioned in 1997, coal fired. using approx 11/2 cwt per day. 5cwt coal stored in bins either side of the engine. 60 galls fresh water in 2 copper tanks aft..

Life jackets, life buoy and fire extinguishers. Compass. 30lb CQR anchor and warp.

A very fine example of an early, original steam launch, beautifully restored.
